Model Sheet: F118 - "Bucky"
Here is the design for Bucky, he has been designed around the shape commonly known as a "buckyball". Each panel is made up of a pentagon, each one held together by the inner core which can be seen slightly through the gaps in each panel. Small rota blades pop through the top panel which splits into two. The eye is in the very center of the character, its pupil expands and contracts depending on its mood and appears as a red dot light.

Character mood boards: "Roborilla"
For inspiration for the design of "Roborilla" I went mainly for a clean refined look to his overall finish, his casings. I haven't settled on a colour scheme and am dabbling with how worn the character will look. Intially though, I do like the idea of a white on brushed metal effect.
The top left robot is perhaps my main inspiration, the segmented armour with gaps that show its inner workings has quite a strong appeal visually.

Robo-rilla
Together with my partner in crime, Thomas Didymus, I will be creating a short animation for my practical project. Inspired by the pixar shorts we aim to create a heart warming short story. The working title is "Robo-rilla" the story is about, as the title suggests, a robotic gorilla.
My Role in the project is the design and creation of the story and characters. Once the storyboards are complete Tom will be responsible for the modelling of the characters and scenes. He will also be lighting and texturing. My main role will to be animate the characters once rigged.
Here I will be blogging our progress, focussing mainly on my own contribution to the project.
